Wie is Danielle O’Neil?

Ek is 37 jarige vrou van Montana. Ek is geskei, ek het ‘n pragtige 15 jarige Dogter, wat my op my tone hou.

Ek is gebore en groot geword in Pretoria, was in Laerskool Wonderboom en matrikuleer uit Hoërskool Overkruin. Ek het direk na skool vir 12 maande VSA toe gegaan om te Au-Pair, en daarna begin werk.


Ek het ‘n baie alleen kinder lewe gehad omdat ek die enigste kind is, maar ek is omring deur familie en my ma se vriendinne, so eintlik het ek baie moeders gehad wat my gehelp grootmaak het, en vandag is ek elkeen van hulle ewig dankbaar vir die deel  wat hulle gehad het.

Hoekom het jy ingeskryf vir Mev Pretoria-Tshwane?

Ek is die afgelope 8 jaar gesmeek deur my een moeder (my tannie Tracy Minnie) om deel te neem.  Sy was Mev Pretoria-Tshwane 2012, en het my van daai tyd afgesmeek om deel te neem maar ek was nooit reg nie.  Ek glo God het ‘n spesifike tyd en plek vir alles, en ek moes nog eers baie groei, en deur baie goed werk sodat ek die beste deel van myself vir ander kan wees.

Ek het ‘n leap of faith gevat en ingeskryf.  Ek was eers baie onseker maar Juanita Smith, sjoe wat ‘n finominale vrou, het my deur soveel tranne en onseker tye gehelp.  Sy het my verseker die sal die beste groei geleentheid ooit wees en dat ek reg is vir die stap in my lewe, en sy was reg.

Ek moes sterker word as wat ek gedink het ek is, ek moes groei in my verhouding met God en ek moes eers mooi myself verstaan het voor God my toegelaat het om die ongelooflike journey te kan aanpak.

Wat is my hoof fokus.

As ‘n mamma van ‘n ongelooflike sterk dogter, wou ek al lank deelword van ‘n beweging om dogters toe te rus om meer te wees as net dit wat die samelewing van hulle verwag.

Dogters en seuns is onder soveel druk, hulle word in hierdie mal warwoel ingegooi met ouers wat skei, drome wat gedroom word en nie volbring word nie, teleurstellings, afwesige ouers, boellies, drank, en drugs. Meisies veral vergeet wie hulle is, en dat hulle “Fearfully and wonderfully made” is deur ‘n lewende God wat vir hulle lief is. Dis wat ek wil terugbring vir meisies. As jong dames weer geleer word dat hulle wel sterk kan wees maar ook onderdanig sal huwelike weer hou, en dis my droom in die lang termyn.

Maar vir nou is my fokus op die NPO wat ons het vir Rolemodels. Om op die plaas te doen soveel ons kan om daai wonderlike kinders te kan toerus met vaardighede sodat hulle ook die mensdom kan aanpak, wanneer hulle volwasse is.

 Wat glo ek het die Rolemodels Foundation die dringendste nodig?

Ons is op die oomblik in dringende nood vir ‘n Trekker.  Die trekker sal hulle in staat stel om die deel van die plaas so te kry dat hulle kan begin plant en hulle eie kos kan genereer. So sal die seuns ook vaardighede aanleer om eendag te kan uitstap en weet hy het vaardighede wat hy kan gebruik om ‘n lewe te kan begin.

Ons het ook dringend solar nodig om krag te kan genereer.  Met krag sal hulle nie net daagikse goed take kan afhandel nie maar met krag sal hulle lewens kwaliteit soveel verbeter.

Who is RoleModels Foundation?
They are concerned about those suffering inhumane conditions and in particular about children who cannot change their circumstances or the cycle of poverty into which they are born. We are driven towards creating a stronger future generation.

The Mission of RoleModels Foundation to intervene in impoverished communities, in order to create self-sustainability through Education and Skills development; ultimately eradicating poverty.

How does RoleModels Foundation found their projects?
We hosts philanthropic pageants and other fundraisers across South Africa.

What is our vision for each participant?
Beauty without a purpose is not beautiful. We believe that it is important to teach the youth that they can indeed make a difference in the community, by getting involved in constructive projects.

What is your main projects you are involved in now?
Rolemodels Foundation have created projects, specifically targeting the 3 most vulnerable groups within a community; children, abused women & children and senior citizens.

Main project at the moment is the Starfish place of safety

The Imfundo Project

The word ‘Imfundo’ is derived from the Nguni language and directly translated means ‘the acquisition of knowledge & education’.
The foundation stands on the concept of “Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day; Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime”

1.1 The Imfundo Educare Project

RoleModels Foundation has initiated and currently support 4 Imfundo Educare projects in SA, in the following regions:

• Port Elizabeth – Eastern Cape

• Diepsloot – Gauteng

• Zwelethemba in Worcester – Western Cape

• Bloemfontein - Free State

1.2 The Imfundo Skills Development Project

Furthermore, the vision also incorporates Imfundo Skills Development Centers, where school leavers can learn skills to create self-sustainability, eg. Carpentry, sewing, agricultural, etc.

1.3 The Asanté-Neo-Life Project

This project is about supporting abused women & children and single mothers. Mothers are the backbone of society; let us support and acknowledge the unsung Heroes.

1,4 The Tamakhulu Project

This project is dedicated to restoring dignity to senior citizens. Food parcels and blankets are donated to alleviate their plight their daily needs.

• Source fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs and cheese

• Collect 2nd hand Clothing, shoes, toys, books

• Collect Stationery

• Give of your time by volunteering at an Imfundo Educare facility

Rolemodels Foundation is a registered NPO (non-profit organisation), with the department of social development. The foundations has PBO status and is VAT registered; for this reason, donations are tax deductible. We meet BBEEE requirements; this is beneficial to any company / sponsor’s CSI (Corporate Social Investment) status and scoring.
